the basics of human connection: biology, boundaries, and recovery
a free community lecture series
oceanside public library
Part I: Sunday October 9, 2016, 5:30pm-8:00pm
The essential relationship between human connection and long-term recovery is well documented and widely promoted in treatment centers and Twelve Step programs. What's rarely discussed is how human connection actually works, and why the mere thought of something that's supposed to heal can feel at best counterintuitive, and at worst, downright excruciating. This three part lecture series is designed to answer that mystery for anyone who has been baffled by their own social behavior.
Please join the larger community for an in-depth presentation of the interpersonal neurobiology of connection, the essential role of boundaries in the process of change, and specific ways to incorporate the knowledge into your already existing program of recovery. Lectures will include demonstrations and plenty of time for questions and answers. Each has been designed to build on previous learning as well as stand alone.
RSVP is not necessary but appreciated!
